CISE Welcomes Summer Intern

SOCHE's TechCred program is a state-funded initiative that reimburses employers for providing students and employees with opportunities to earn short-term, high-demand credentials while gaining meaningful workplace experience.

Selected from a competitive pool of applicants, Brady Sanders, an incoming senior at Moeller High School, completed a rewarding six-week internship that provided valuable exposure to nonprofit leadership, governance, finance, and organizational operations.

Working closely with Mari Thomas and Mike Kennedy, Brady contributed to projects across several areas of the organization, including:

  • Governance & Finance: Prepared materials for board and investment committee meetings and reviewed year-end investment and financial statements for CISE's three entities.
  • Research & Development: Researched scholarship granting organization websites and career and technical education programs.
  • Administration: Organized historical meeting records and updated donor profiles.

In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities, Brady gained firsthand insight into nonprofit leadership by meeting with CISE's Board Chair, touring an investment management firm, visiting a CISE partner high school, and attending staff, investment committee, and board meetings. These experiences allowed him to observe the collaboration and decision-making that support CISE's mission of serving more than 3,000 students each year.

The internship reflects CISE's ongoing commitment to creating meaningful educational and career experiences for students and young professionals while strengthening partnerships with organizations that invest in workforce development.
